A skin lesion is when a part of the skin has an abnormal appearance or growth. There are many different known types of lesions. So because of this reason, they are divided into two separate groups called primary and secondary to help doctors and individuals distinguish between the forms. Causes and Treatment
The most common cause of skin lesions are infections on or in the skin. Birthmarks can be a type of primary lesion while scars from chicken pox would be a type secondary lesion. Treatment of skin lesions depends upon the underlying cause or causes. Treatments could range from medicine to surgery to simple home care, it all depends on the individual.
