When you search for a new primary care physician, what qualifications do you value? Have you ever considered exploring the volunteer work and career award history of your doctor? Dr. Andy Fine of Colorado Primary Health Care has been an active member of the local and medical community in Denver, Colorado, serving as a primary care physician since 1998, and volunteering with a wide variety of programs benefiting the greater Denver area. Below, we will continue a series of articles outlining the extensive work of Dr. Fine, following–up with an expansion of his volunteer experience and career awards.
Dr. Andy Fine has a lengthy history of volunteer work, the benefits of which span from educational to healthcare, and even local communities. Beginning in 1999, Dr. Fine assisted with the Doctors Care program, working through 2003 to provide indigent medical services. Overlapping in time, he was an advisory board member with Metro Volunteers’ IMPACT program in 2002, and volunteered with Metro Volunteers, Urban Peak, Warren Village, and Johnson Center by teaching prospective medical students from 2002-2004.
Additionally, from 2005-2007, Dr. Fine was a member of the Young Professionals Nonprofit Network, assisted in the Leadership Arts program with the Colorado Business Coalition for the Arts in 2006, and began work he carries to this day with the Goodwill Program at Denver East High School as a College Scholarship Interviewer. Along similar lines, he served alongside the Mock Interview Team with KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy, working with their middle school students in 2007. In that same year, Dr. Fine was a Graduate of the Jewish Family Services Leadership Program, and a member of Leadership Denver of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Fine’s philanthropic efforts continued from 2008-2009, as he worked with the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation in the Leadership Denver Interview Committee, the Anti–Defamation League Leadership Program, and a Program Committee member of the Young Philanthropists Foundation. Additionally, he was selected as Volunteer of the Month in September of 2008 with Junior Achievement in Colorado, assisted the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program Selection Committee, and began a charter membership with the Denver Foundation Community Legacy Society, which he carries to this day.
From 2006–2009, Dr. Andy Fine was also very active in serving Denver Venture School, a local charter high school. He began serving on the board of directors and as a Chair of the Academic Committee in 2006, both of which he continued through 2009. He also chaired the Head of School search in 2007. During this time, he was presented the Branch Rickey Award for Community Service with the school, as well as the Downtown Denver Partnership Award in 2009.
Dr. Andy Fine is not only invested in providing impeccable patient care, but also in the successful and growing future of the local community and students, medical practitioners, and healthcare as a whole.
