Colorado Primary Health Care prides itself on almost always being available to it’s patients (new or existing) for a sick or well visit. Dr. Andy Fine explains, we can get you in for a visit usually that afternoon or the next morning in most cases. Our office understands people want quick access and we know there are other options to patients when feeling acutely ill – i.e. heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, sinus symptoms or cold/flu symptoms. We would like to encourage you to visit your primary care doctor instead.
A primary care office is better equipped to investigate the possibility of different things that may be the underlying diagnosis. They are also better equipped to treat patients. Your primary care office will have all your medical records to review in reference to your current symptoms and can also address any other issues that might have needed a follow up – i.e. taking chronic medications, abnormalities from lab work from previous concerns that need to be further discussed or re-evaluated. This is why going to your primary care doctor over an urgent care facility when you have acute symptoms is highly recommended.
Instead of treating only your presenting symptoms and shuffling you out the door, a primary care physician (PCP) will thoroughly investigate and get to the bottom of your ailments. A PCP will also try to take into account both a patient’s preference for what they want to get out of the visit and also what is the best practice based on the evidence, risks and harms when treating acute symptoms.
Colorado Primary Health Care would like our patients to realize that we will always try to accommodate when a patient calls and says they need to be seen that day. We have many open spaces on our schedule, that we deliberately leave open every day for work-in visits. In addition, our wait time every hour is lower due to our open scheduling system. We are sure you’ll not only get seen quicker here but also get a more comprehensive evaluation and treatment by someone that already knows you.
Everyday illnesses, aches and pains can set you back at work and at home.
